Sewn Necklaces

Lately, I've been reading a lot about statement necklaces. They first started appearing last year, and it seems that this trend is going to stick around through this spring. Having not found my perfect, affordable statement necklace in stores, I did a little online research and decided to make my own. I found this tutorial on how to make a Sewn Necklace on Craftstylish and this is what I made.

I used gold organza, velvet ribbon, hot glue, my sewing machine, studs, and acrylic jewels. After taking this picture I purchased some black square jewels and added them to the necklace on the left so that it had more of an edge to it. What do you think?
