What I'm Listening To: Fiona Apple- Every Single Night

Saturday, June 30, 2012

Hello! Have you guys noticed that a lot of popular bands/music performers from the late 90s and early 2000s are releasing new albums lately; from Fiona Apple to Smashing Pumpkins to Garbage. And I am loving it. These were the musical groups from my teenage years and I am so happy to welcome them back.

First, lets listen to the latest release from Fiona Apple. It'll make you want to put an octopus on your head. Seriously.

What I'm Listening To: Lana Del Rey- Nathional Anthem

Wednesday, June 27, 2012

Today, Lana Del Rey released her latest video for the song "National Anthem" which was fitting because I just returned from attending The Boy's Airforce graduation at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, Texas. More about that later.

A Little Bit of Lace

Tuesday, June 12, 2012
For Christmas I received a gift card for a local beauty salon and I decided to use them this weekend to get my first pedicure. It was super relaxing and I really enjoyed it and I got tons of complements on my shirt, my jeans, my shoes and my neon bag (not pictured).

Who Spilled the Beans?

Monday, June 11, 2012
I spilled the beans...all over my pants.

On Friday I had a very busy day at work with 2 meetings and lots of paperwork followed by an after work coffee date with The Boy's sister. So I needed an outfit that was both comfortable, cute and fashionable to easily go from work to fun. I was feeling pretty hip in this outfit, until I attended my residence pool party and I spilled a plate of baked beans all over one of my pant legs. Luckily, it didn't show up in my photos.

Top: Missoni for Target
Black pants: Old Navy
Watch: Target
Shoes:Clark's from Brown's Shoe Fit in Lawrence, KS

I also received a sweet "bear hug" t-shirt in the mail (as well as a card and some corn seeds) as a thank you reward for helping Lawrence, Kansas artist, Darin M. White fund his personal debut solo art exhibition titled "Overflow" through Kickstarter so that he could present in Brooklyn, New York.
Kickstarter is a website that allows filmmakers, musicians, artists, designers and other creative folks to create project pages in order to invite and link art lovers to help fund creative projects. Each project is either fully funded or not funded at all and most artists offer a small reward as a thank you for your help. If you've never visited the web-site, I encourage you to check it out.

Pin Me!

Tuesday, June 5, 2012

I'm sure you are totally familiar with the hugely popular website Pinterest- the online bulletin board where you can pin your favorite online photos, organize them by categories, and share them all with your online besties. Well, lately I have noticed that several blogs have started adding "Pin It" buttons to their blogs in order to make it easier for readers to share images and blogs with their friends. However, Blogger has not yet jumped on the band wagon, but now I have!

Thanks to a simple online tutorial posted by The Sun Was High, I now have my very own "Pin It" button below, so feel free to pin images and blog articles (new and old) to your Pinterest boards. And, if you want, you can follow me on Pinterest- my name is Sarah O.

Impressions of the Art Museum

Monday, June 4, 2012
In May, the Plein Air painters group met at the Wichita Art Museum to do some sketching. We truly suffered for our art that week as we braved 90 degree temperatures, 40+ mile per hour winds, ticks, and slow food service all for the sake of making art.

Here's what I accomplished:

What I'm Listening To: Glee's Michael Jackson Episode

Sunday, June 3, 2012

So, I'm a fan of the show Glee, but I often don't get the chance to watch the show during its regular air time (Tuesdays at 7pm central). Thanks to Hulu, I can get caught up on my shows on my schedule.

This weekend I finally got to catch the the Michael Jackson episode of Glee and I've been singing M.J. songs ever since. If you haven't seen it, you can watch the episode by clicking the link above.
