2012 Grammy Picks

Tonight is the 2012 Grammy Awards. In honor of tonight's Grammy Awards, Paste Magazine posted a handy dandy chart of their picks and predictions. I've been trying really hard to keep up with what the kids are listening to, so I thought I'd post my own predictions as well.

OhSarahO's Predictions and Proclamation: I think this is going to be Adele's year.

• Record of the Year- Adele, "Rolling in the Deep" Winner- Adele, "Rolling in the Deep"
• Album of the Year- Adele, 21. Who should win: PJ Harvey "Let England Shake" Winner- Adele, 21
• Song of the Year- Adele, "Rolling in the Deep". Winner- Adele, "Rolling in the Deep"
• Best New Artist- Bon Iver Winner- Bon Iver
• Best Solo Pop Performance- Adele, "Someone Like You" Winner- Adele, "Someone Like You"
• Best Pop Duo/Group Performance- Foster the People, "Pumped up Kicks" Winner- Tony Bennett & Amy Winehouse "Body and Soul"
• Best Pop Vocal Album- Adele, 21"Winner- Adele, 21
• Best Dance Recording- Duck Sauce, "Barbra Streisand". Who should win: M83, "Midnight City". Winner- Skrillex, "Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites"
• Best Dance/Electronica Album- Skrillex, "Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites" Winner- Skrillex, "Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites"
• Best Rock Performance- The Decemberists, "Down by the Water" Winner- Foo Fighters, "Walk"
• Best Rock/Metal Performance- Mastodon, "Curl of the Burl" Winner- Foo Fighters, "White Limo"
• Best Rock Album- Wilco, The Whole Love. Do people still listen to the Red Hot Chili Peppers? Winner- Foo Fighters, Wasting Light
• Best Alternative Music Album- Bon Iver, Bon Iver. Does Alternative music still exist? What defines Alternative Music these days? Winner- Bon Iver, Bon Iver.

So I got 8 out of 13 and Paste got 11 out of 13 correct predictions. Maybe Paste magazine should buy a lottery ticket. This seemed to be a big year for Adele, the Foo Fighters, and Bon Iver. Congrats to the winners!
