Since the holiday fell on a weekday this year, my town had it's annual St. Patty's Day parade the same Saturday I was presenting my master's project video at Discovery Day, so I missed the city's festivities. However, my boyfriend is a photojournalist and got to cover the city parade.
*funny story alert*
At the local St. Patrick's Day parade, the boyfriend was scanning the crowd looking for festively dressed people to interview about the parade. Across the street, he spotted two tall green/ white "cat in the hat" style hats rising above the crowd and thought to himself "I've got to interview those people". So, he walked across the street, approached the people in funny hats (and giant green clown glasses) and asked if they would like to be interviewed, and was surprised to hear that they knew his name. "Mrs. Beasley?" he responded. They turned out to be my uncle and his girlfriend. THE END
Meanwhile, my video presentation went well. I presented in front of a modest crowd and everyone just had wonderful things to say about it.
For St. Patrick's Day I treated myself to some retail therapy. Check out my Fab Finds:
Black and Turquoise Infinity Scarf: $5 @ Hot Topic (clearance)
I also picked up some Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip gloss at Target after hearing other people rave about it for the past 5 years and I must say that I am loving that minty tingle.
In the evening, I enjoyed a green beer and watched Waking Ned Divine with the boy (which may be the beginnings of a St. Patty's day tradition- 2 years in a row).
What did you do for St. Patty's day? Do you have any traditions?
