Sarah O Style Defined

Thursday, April 4, 2013
This week's IFB Challenge is a difficult challenge- defining your own personal style. What makes this challenge so difficult is that my style is always changing and adapting towards my own personal interests, lifestyle, and my environment.

It's no secret that two of my favorite celebrity style icons are Zooey Deschanel and Alexa Chung.

I'm also influenced by fashion designers such as Betsey Johnson, Kate Spade and Marc Jacobs.

Plus, I'm always gaining influence from my fellow fashion bloggers whose blogs I read on Bloglovin, Google Reader, on Instagram and on Pinterest.

Typically, I'm not able to let my fashion sense run completely wild because I have to keep my outfits appropriate for working with children during the week, so you won't often find me in any outfits with exposed midriffts, open backs, shorty shorts and short skirts and I often save my t-shirts and jeans for the weekend.

When I was living in The States, my outfits had to be adaptable to all kinds of weather because it could be sunny and spring-like in the morning and snow later that same day, but now that I'm in the UK I've been trying to appropriate more layering pieces and clothes to fend off the cold.

Because I also have an art background, I am often influenced by art and DIY. When I have the opportunity, I love to create new pieces and accessories and incorporate them into my looks.

So in short, I would describe my style as Cute Casual Chic. How would you describe your style?
