This week I read that The National will be performing their song, "Sorrow," at New York's MoMA...for 6 HOURS STRAIGHT. You heard me right, friends! At first I was like, "Cool! The National is doing a show at MoMA...for how long!?" The performance aims to explore" the potential of repetitive performance to produce sculptural presence within sound".
Hmmm...I wonder if they will take bathroom and drink breaks? What if singer, Matt Berninger, looses his voice? What if the band members get tired?
Anyways, if you're like me and won't be able to attend the 6 hour performance in person, check out the live performance of the song above. And if you want to get a similar experience, just repeat it for 6 hours straight. :-P
I guess they really can't get that song out of their heads...
ReplyDeleteI wonder how many dedicated fans will sit out the entire performance?
